"LET'S GET IT ON", "WHAT'S GOING ON", "DISTANT LOVER",AND"HOW SWEET IT IS" ARE STILL SOME OF MY FAVORITE SONGS. MARVIN, IN MY OPINION WAS DEFINITELY THE BEST. MARVIN GAVE US LOVE, PEACE, AND PRIDE DURING TIMES OF TURMOIL.

Known for his early dance hits, such as "Hitch Hike" and "Can I Get a Witness," and uptempo ballads like "Pride and Joy" and "How Sweet It Is to Be Loved by You," Gaye found his biggest success with "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" in 1968. Marvin Gay was born in 1939. In 1961 he began his career with Motown Records and added an "e" to the end of his last name.
